KNOW THIS....EVERY CHILD IS CAPABLE SO LET'S TEACH THEM!
CREATIVITY CAN LEAD CHILDREN TO MANY DIFFERENT PLACES SO LETS ENGAGE THEM...INVOLVING CHILDREN IN THE CREATIVE ARTS IS SO MUCH MORE DEEPER THAN WE THINK- IT'S ALMOST ONE OF THE STEPPING STONES IN BUILDING THE CHILD'S IDENTITY- GAINING CONFIDENCE - LEARNING MORE ABOUT THEMSELVES AND OTHERS!

YES, CREATIVE ARTS IS EMBEDDED WITHIN OUR PROGRAM

Believe it or not, teaching is one of my hobbies! I Actually look forward to waking up each day and going to work and getting down to the young children's level - supporting them in becoming confident young learners. I also enjoy bike riding, swimming, jogging, creative arts especially painting and not forgetting a quick coffee with family and friends.

Travelling has been such an eye opener as we are lucky enough to  discover the beauty of this world and have had the chance to learn about how others live, helping us to grow our learning of other cultural differences and similarities.

A little bit more about myself and my career journey......

A while back  I started my career journey at the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) and remained with the organisation for 12 years, sometimes you just have to be thankful for what you have...and so I was!! but several years later I decided it was time for a career change....To do something that I love and enjoy. I completed the Children's Services Cert 3, then I decided to go ahead with the Diploma and during my study time, I discovered several outstanding educational philosophers which inspired me to take a step further in my studies. Whilst working part-time at the RTA I also decided it was time to transition into the my future role, I took on Team Leader position as an Early Childhood Teacher in the 3-4's pre-school room for just under 12 months. This was a great start, leading me into the next learning stage of my career path.

My journey didn't end here! When I finally graduated from university, I worked for another preschool, taking on the role of the Early Childhood Educator in the 4-5's & 3-4'S room I loved every minute of it as I watched the children grow and flourish. My engagement and positive teaching strategies allowed the children to flourish through the most  meaningful interactions taking place. I thoroughly enjoyed my role as the Early Childhood Education at the pre-school, although I really wanted to prepare the children so much more for the big world that awaits them, but I felt I was limited.

At this stage of my life, I thought it was time to try the primary school environment so I began by working as a Casual Teacher with Early Stage 1 and stage 1 Students K-2 and as the years passed, I started to work across all the various grades at the several Department of Education Schools and Private Schools.  In the following few years, I was offered a Teacher Relief Role and I decided to take it. It has been an amazing chapter of my life working in the industry which I was highly passionate about but I knew I wanted more and that's when I decided it was time to balance Casual Teaching with running my own tutoring centre 2017 I opened B4bigschool catering for children aged between 3.5 & 9years.

Another great opportunity came up with TAFE NSW (SWSi) in early 2015, taking on the role of the teacher in Early Childhood Education and Care & Education Support teacher role. It was the perfect opportunity for me to share my knowledge and passion with adult students so I took the role. The message I really wanted to get across during this journey was....to help everyone understand that:  if we understand the children, truly understand their differences and enjoy our role as responsible caring educators, working together with families, only then we can provide the children with so much more meaning to their world.

I will share with you briefly about some of the influences which further lead me into starting B4bigschool. It was those teaching days both at the preschool and primary school, the close observations which I made whilst working with the young children that helped me to see that some struggled right throughout the day and some became overwhelmed during learning time. I was worried that many of the child's transition to school may not have been a positive one. Some of the children have not yet developed their fine motor skills,
or have a reasonable attention span of at least 3-8mins in order to sit and finish the set activity, let alone be expected to start forming letters and words. Also some of the children (of various age groups pre-kindy through to year 6), find it extremely hard on a daily basis to communicate and express their feelings even asking for help is at times rather stressful for them, they would usually approach me with the remark of, "Ms I feel sick".... and just then I pause and think "hmmm" perhaps they may need extra assistance to help them gain the confidence, to get involved in their learning and even attempt to have a ago! Have we also considered that some of the children find it so hard to make any friends on a daily basis let alone be expected to try to get through the day- social interactions are very crucial to the well being of children - as educators/parents we need to highly support this. Through an in-depth school readiness program which is set up quite similar to the kindergarten classroom and most importantly catering for the various learning needs (considering that children learn in different ways; visual learners, auditory learners, Kinasthetic learners and the sensory - physical hands on learners), and knowing the child's needs allows us to respond accordingly and make the child's learning experience much more enjoyable and less overwhelming.

The greatest aspects of this tutoring centre are the resources and freedom of choice, the various styles of teaching and understanding how children learn at their own pace. This interactive tutoring program which I have put together was aimed at highly supporting both the children's academics and social/emotional rights (wellbeing) as we focus on building early literacy/numeracy skills and using the creative arts program to support the children's wellbeing. Being the Founder of B4 Big School and the educator on site, I feel privileged to be able to tailor the tutor program and the learning environment to ensure that your child will have the best start and feel more confident during their primary school learning journey.

Tutoring isn't limited at B4bigschool as we offer several different programs to support the community needs. By the request of parents I have also began teaching the Arabic language and running various sessions to support this. Not only do we provide school readiness tutoring sessions. These programs all run separately and in different sessions/days/times.

Finally, I want to add a BIG thank you to the local community for your interest in the various programs which we run and the success it has been. Your google reviews....feedback has been a great reflection of what our program has delivered in the past few years and continues to deliver.

HUMANITARIAN WORK

The photo above represents Zahra, the daughter of the founder of B4 Big School participating in supporting the Phillipines community. Zahra worked closely with the people of Zamboanga and Manilla (Phillipines) in distributing food, essential lively resources and exchanging words of peace. This was a family trip, travelling with several other families from Sydney Australia, organised by the Australian Relief Organisation (ARO), a very professional team taking on outstanding work supporting people in need, from all around the world on numerous projects each year. ARO also takes part in organising cataract eye operations and water wells ensuring clean water is provided to the less advantaged countries around the world. If you would like to take part in supporting this organisation please let us know or contact them directly as we all work together in making bigger things happen for humanity.

June 2018 We began collecting donations to pass onto ARO -to  begin building the water well in Tanzania (Africa) which will provide over 1000 people with clean water on a daily basis - two water wells were
completed during 2018.
During 2019 We have collected over $1000 to purchase beds and mattresses for an orphanage based in Malawi

current charity  B4bigschool also continues to take an important role in supporting humanity...We have been sponsoring an international orphan (monthly-since 2017 on behalf of B4) via the Australian Human Appeal org.
