The Creative Child

​At B4 Big School, individual portfolio's are provided to preserve and respect your child's expressive and artistic skills:
​
We focus on using:
  • ​​Rich-based art materials
  • Teacher directed - Child free artistic lessons
  • Hands on as children investigate the primary colour scheme
  • Exposure to traditional and cultural art
  • Drama/Music/Visual Art​​



The Physical Child

At B4 Big School we support your child's fine motor skills  and gross motor skills to the best of our abilities.
​
  • Most of the activities require your child to use      hand-eye coordination skills 
  • We encourage the children to use safety scissors for cutting and creating
  • Passing and throwing a soft ball in a circle as the children develop over arm and under arm passes
  • The Yoga Child- light fitness lesson 

​The Explorer and Investigator 
 

Through our most engaging activities based on the children developing an early awareness in working scientifically and becoming familiar with the physical world surrounding them.
​The children will be exposed to:
​
  • Early exposure to Geography- Exploring the world- through puzzles, interactive video clips focusing on the 7 continents of the world.
  • Exploring the natural built environments 
  • Digital Technology is used in supporting several aspects of the program
  • Problem solving skills- using concrete teaching learning materials.
  • Recognising numbers- the value of numbers and counting on to 20 and beyond. 
  • Some children may be ready to be extended moving onto simple one digit addition - problem solving, using the correct maths language, concrete materials, visuals to represent (how many altogether).
  •  Counting on - forwards and backwards
  • Jolly Phonics Based Literacy Learning (Synthetic Phonics)- focusing on the alphabet letter sounds, word building through blending moving onto reading simple texts which also includes the usage of high frequency- sight words.

The Independent Child


​Through transitions, and developmental Play- (free Play), your child continues to flourish.
​
As we provide your child with the following:


  • Morning routine- days of the week 
  • Dental hygiene circle time (caring for self)
  • Road Safety awareness- circle time
  • Making own choices- what activity they engage in
  • Problem solving skills
  • Sharing and leadership 
  • Life Skills
  • Recognising own name and learning to write it


​The Social Child

​Our program provides:
  • Whole group circle time- The Calendar - Literacy circle time- Numeracy Circle time
  • Puppet talk - Paddle pop stick feeling faces
  • Feeling story books- felt board stories
  • Conflict resolution strategies- role play and interactive kids social stories
  • Educators role modelling positive behaviours​ at all times
  • News... focusing on the 5 W's - Who? What? When? Where? and Why? 
  • The Creative Arts - 15 mins is allocated to support THE CREATIVE CHILD- within every child!

Our program sessions consist of a good balance, ensuring your child doesn't lose focus or become bored too easily as its joyful yet engaging and most importantly the activities are aimed at each child's individual level.

Session Information

​We offer four School Readiness sessions (Interactive Tutor Program) per week.


DURING SCHOOL TERMS ONLY


TUESDAY - 9:15-11:15am
WEDNESDAY - 9:15-11:15am
THURSDAY- 9:15-11:15am



 
We welcome children between (3.5years to 6.5years of age)


We offer Tuesday afternoon- Primary School Tutoring 5:00-6:00pm

Please enquire about our School Holiday Workshops or check our home page
We are also open to suggestions for additional programs based on expression of interest



Please don't hesitate to contact us to arrange a visit,
so we can meet you- along with your child and discuss needs/goals!

​Your child's progress at B4 Big School is delivered through Learning Conversations which can take place during any session- preferably at pick up, if arranged prior with the teacher (Ms Nadia). 



​For an effective outcome of this state of the Art (School Readiness program- tutoring centre), your child needs to attend
at least
 1-2
​sessions per week for
 four terms to ensure a successful transition into the Kindergarten classroom.
