​ INTERACTIVE TUTOR PROGRAM - School Readiness with Ms Nadia and the Education Support Team.

​​​Children aged as early as 3.5 years to 6 years of age have the opportunity to experience a realistic and practical approach in our Pre-kindergarten classroom environment.

This consists of a genuine Kindergarten classroom routine supporting the children's abilities in becoming effective learners, familiarising them with the transitions and routines. Our rich based resources have a purpose, which is to provide children with experiences which allow them to think outside the box - learn to become problem solvers and believe in themselves. Our school readiness program is interactive and therefore we use various creative ways to teach children. The exposure to high quality sensory materials is essential in stimulating your child's neuron's and it is a part of the nourishing process supporting their development in the early years.

Why Creative Arts?

Through the creative arts, we support the children's social and emotional development as they design, create, engage in imaginative dramatic play and experiment through the use of colours, tones/textures and using aesthetically pleasing materials. Creative arts gives children a voice, it enhances their confidence and supports their communication skills.

Some of the above images are examples of what children can achieve when Creative Arts is catered for within the classroom setting and instructional guided teaching takes place. We acknowledge different level of abilities of children this is why we find it necessary to apply the step by step approach as we scaffold your child to further support their growth mindset. This allows the children to become inspired, learn new skills and design their own artworks during their free drawing sessions or developmental play session.

Some really important things you might like to consider to further support your child's learning journey or preparation for Kindergarten....

  • Is your child bored? Does your child need a challenge?​
  • Is your child still in the toddler room at preschool and they are over the age of 3? Or are they not engaging in enough activities which will prepare them for school?
  • Have you started to prepare your child for kindergarten, involving them in, name writing activities, cutting skills/fine motor skills, letter/sound & number recognition and much more?
  • Is your child emotionally attached (experiencing separation anxiety? do you find drop offs a little tricky and exhausting for both your child and yourself?
  • If your child is starting school next year, have you contacted your child's future school to find out if they have any orientation days coming up? this will certainly support you in making a decision of whether to send them off to school or not (depending on their age of course- and the feedback you will get from the teachers during the visit will be beneficial).
  • Is your child struggling at school (Kindy- primary years) and just needs a few strategies to help them become a little more independent in their learning?
  • Do you have the time to support your child's education at home?

Did you know......

During the preschool age, children start developing skills which are learned through problem solving. Three year olds are beginning to understand their own creativity and how it may be used in completing tasks. Additionally, they begin to use logical thinking to differentiate between group and singular objects.

 
​   B4 Big School offers a School Readiness program that is unlike any other in NSW (this is what parents continue to tell us since opening in 2017), the program showcases a balance between superior academics and extraordinary fun. We believe that the children's preschool years, if nourished well, will influence children to become excited for their big school journey, to want to go to school, to want to know more and enjoy learning. The foundation years will help your child to attain higher academic achievements, and encourage social and emotional growth - as we focus on the 'I can do everything' approach, which results in children becoming confident learners and having higher self-esteem.
  
​  Every child needs to feel ready for the big world of Kindergarten. The transition from pre-kindy to kindergarten is huge! It may be overwhelming for both, parent and child. This is why we have decided to design such an interactive, fun based classroom/learning environment. At B4 Big School, we provide instructional teaching to enhance your child's learning abilities and life skills through a nourishing process where your child is engaged in constant training and each time they have grasped a new task they are ready for another challenge. 

As an additional program, we also tutor children in their primary school years (Math & English). We have many children which have attended our pre-kindy school readiness program and continue right through to year 3 or 4.

We use the Jolly Phonic Song A-Z to support your child's Alphabet letters and sound recognition. 
You can also play this at home for your child at your own convenience.
 

Large and small story picture books are used during our circle time frequently. These resources help support your child's language development. This further enhances their vocabulary and communication skills which also includes listening, reading and writing. These communication skills are essential as it helps your child interact more effectively with their peers and group environment. 

Throughout the school terms we work with your child to develop their early literacy skills- in this following order.

Group 1- We familiarise your child with the uppercase letters and lower case letters Alphabet letters and sounds, using various activities to support this learning.

​Group 2- Recognise short CVC words which are made up of a consonant, vowel then a consonant, complete activities based on these words. We also begin to look at simple pronouns - sight words.

Group 3- We aim to support the children in sounding out the first letter of a word and the last letter of a word then we encourage the children to use the stretch and blend strategy to assist them in learning to read and write simple 2-4 letter words. Then we further build the children's learning journey through motivating them to create/write short complete sentences.

As your child is progressing throughout the program at B4 Big School they become rather familiar in recognising lower and uppercase alphabet letters, as they begin to manipulate them forming and writing simple words.
The ability varies across the individual children and we acknowledge this. Our encouragement process is endless.

This should not be the parents greatest concern as children develop at their own pace. We acknowledge that your child is entering into a sensitive period of reading and writing and to further support this, we deliver a tailored program which is inclusive of tools and access to a variety of resources which provide your child with guidance and a strong foundation to begin their writing journey. 

2023 Graduation event 
this will be taking place at a special venue towards the end of the year.
the children will be collecting their achievement awards on stage and will also be engaged in a role play which we usually practice throughout the year as part of the creative arts program. A very memorable afternoon for the children,
families and educators. 
This will be our 6th graduation
​(we missed one during the covid lockdown)
